My mom always comments on how fresh our laundry smells, and when she does her laundry here while she is visitng, she says that her clothes stay smelling fresh longer as well. I wash my clothes with the Costco brand Kirkland laundry soap, add liquid downy fabric softener, and do not use dryer sheets. I read somewhere recently that a consumer reports showed that the Kirkland laundry soap was the best dollar value and cleaning value

It may not be your detergent. You could try adding 1 cup of Arm &Hammer baking soda to your detergent when you wash. You can find it in the baking isle and some stores also have it in the laundry isle. My husband plays sports and works out alot I have found that it is the only thing that takes out the sweat/deoderant smell.

skip the bleach and fabric softener and reduce the detergent as much as possible. unless you have really dirty greasy clothes, most detergents recommend too much. If you can hang them outside ......even after washing and drying.....they will smelll better too. I have used a covered porch or balcony to freshen clothes. and of course hanging outside to dryi n the sunlight is the best.

well I use Aerial washing powder . it could be something to do with your water supply . try this use a cup of vinegar and run the machine on 60c, then Try some Milton Or any other sterilizing solution that cleans baby´s bottles, run that through the machine on a 40c this might help clean the tubes that brings the water supply
