The only thing to shovel is the dog poop in the backyard....and that would be a NO for sure!!

NO.
I have done it for my Mom when she needs something planted.
I have done it when putting in a water service from the curb stop on the street to the person's house. In 90+ degree weather.
Snow...don't like that either.
I think that a deep massage session with two lovely women would be better.

Personally, I love to shovel.
Depending on the size of the hole, sometimes you need to use power equipment or back hoes.
I hate soil with lots of rocks though.

It ranks right up there with going to the dentist, but my dog loves it, so I let her dig away.
