I have a "telephone wand" version of a shower head, and the holes are closing up, some from grit, but most others that are closed/of reduced aperture seem to suffer from lime (calcium) deposits. My thought was to soak and/or scour it with some home-made solution, since I cannot find a commercial product for this purpose here in Germany.

Researching the 21 Q's found under "lime deposits" here, it would seem an acid solution, perhaps using vinegar or lime juice may work. But, I am worried about this pitting or eating away the chrome-(like?) finish on the shower head.

I suspect the best solution is to SOAK the shower-head (since it can be brought down from its hanging position) in a solution, then use a BRUSH or scouring pad on the water outlets (jets) to remove/reduce the most stubborn deposits. But, what solution is most likely to garner success?

Wanting to reduce my shower time here in Frankfurt,

Looking for a plant that has a flower like Dutchman's or Dutchmen's Breeches but this one has white breeches and a bit of a red flower part coming out from the breeches part. The leave are not fern-like or compound. They are simple oval shaped leaves, thick and the plant is a very strong vine. I lost mine due to the deep freeze we had in California and want to buy some. Does anyone know what these are called and where I can buy them?

i have an upstairs bedroom above the living room of a small 3 bedroom house. both sides of my bedroom floor slant into the center of the room. i haven't done any measurements or anything like that, and i don't own the house, i rent, but i was wondering what the likelyhood of my room collapsing into the living room was? it's not some dumpy house, but it's not Method Man's crib either. the room shakes if you move around around alot, the floor creaks and cracks but doesnt start to crumble or anything. just wondering if anyone knew about houses or whatever, i dont want to kill anyone or myself by the floor collasping.

I buy expensive natural soaps, and hate to throw out the bits when it gets down to a small piece. But I tried to "melt" several of these in a ceramic bowl in the microwave, and got a frothy mess. Is there a simple, better way to do this or don't bother?

Looks like someone peeled the tint off of the window & it has left a film/haze on the window. Can that haze be removed or do you have to buy a new window?

Hi,
I was wearing my husbands new sweatshirt today and he told me I better not get anything on it. After reasuring him I wouldn't I decided to fry some food... Dumb,dumb,dumb..... I know!
Anyway I of course got little grease splaters all over it. I doused it in "Spray N Wash" and threw it in the washer. My husband finally decided to help with the laundry and threw it in the dryer (I didn't tell him). The grease stains are still all over it. Can someone please tell me if there is anyway to get them out.

I'm looking to buy an older home soon. Everything is fine with it except for these low hanging power lines coming to the roof of the house. These lines cross over the driveway at approx 10 feet. I'd like to put a basketball goal there in the future, but the lines are too low. Has anyone had success raising the lines or moving them somewhere?
thanks

After cleaning my microwave oven, I find that the smell still remains in what was cooked or warmed previously.

What can I do to remove the smell AFTER I've cleaned the oven?

Is there something I can use to kill the oder of foods prepared earlier?

Thanx

They are about the size of a fruit-fly, only slightly larger and are dark black.

They tend to mostly fly around in the bathroom, but will go near the dishdrainer or the plant pots as well. I think they like the dampness.

Anyways, they are very annoying and I would like to know what they are and how to get rid of them.

Thanks!
