I have recently changed my gas and electricity supplier from BG to Scottish Power and i have just checked my online bank to find BG have taken out over £100 more than my usual DD, i presume this is my final payment, but is it right that they can just do that without informing me? i've gone over my bloody overdraft now so will get charged £30!! Grrrr!

I live in an old mobile home (built around the 50's Im guessing). My furnace thermostat was just fixed after being without heat for close to 3 weeks. Im guessing my furnace must be as old as the mobile home (gas type) Now the furnace goes off for only maybe a minute and comes back on almost running continuously. Is it because it is an older home and the insulation isnt the greatest as with the newer ones, or maybe because the weather outside is frigid (around the teens with a windchill close to zero) or maybe because their was no heat in the home for so long. Im not sure if I should worry about this or just be thankful I have heat. Yes it is still a bit drafty but at least their is heat. I already paid a hundred dollors for someone to come and change my thermostat and i cant afford anyone to come out again. Help please! Im not that well off moneywise, living on a very tight budget. Maybe im just over reacting to this whole thing.

I'm collecting blue & white dishes, vases, etc and want to decorate my dining room around them. Any ideas for a color scheme? How about ways to display them? I want to add more as time goes by.

I am buying a house that doesn't have a fireplace. In the future I would like to install one. I am currently figuring up my 5 year plan for the property and want to know about how much the addition of a wood burning masonry fireplace costs. I am aware that this is not the most efficient fireplace available, but this is what I am going to choose based strictly on my preference.

I have searched the internet and have found many articles debating different types of fireplaces, estimated resale value, etc. but nothing with a ball park dollar amount. If anybody has added a fireplace to their house or is a contractor who has worked on similar jobs, I would greatly appreciate an approximate figure.

Thanks!

I keep a small cactus plant on my window sill. It gets lots of direct sunlight, but I am not sure how often to water it. My last one rotted when I watered it too much, but I don't want it to dry out either. How much should I water it and how often?

It looks like this: http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/625572/2/istockphoto_625572_cactus_plant.jpg

I can't go out and play until I clean up my room, but it's so messy it would take me a week to finish. I can't hire a house cleaner on my allowance, are you kidding? Even if I could, they would trip on my stuff and sue me.

If I don't fix this problem soon, not only will I miss the fun stuff going on outside, but I'll die from an alergy to dust.!!
