I just stained an old fish tank stand,and its been two days and its still sticky.How do i get the stain to dry

i refinished a piece of furniture once and couldn't get it to dry. i called the stain company and they said i needed something to dry the air. i ended up putting a window air conditioner in the room and shutting the door and leaving it. it took almost 24 hours but it did dry. if you don't have an a/c, try a dehumidifier...

either the wood was wet or you have to much moisture in the air, try a dehumidifier or place an electric space heater in the room to help dry out the air and the stain.
