The hand wash cycle is a little more harsh than actual hand washing would be, but I don't think the machine could do that much damage. I always wash my delicates in a mesh bag on the most gentle cycle, and they come out fine.

Most times you will be safe to use the gentle cycle, with cold water for your hand wash items. Putting them into a delicates bag to wash will further assist with protecting them.

To try them, lay them out flat. If you want to soften them up a bit after drying, you can use the 'air dry' only cycle on your dryer for a few minutes, but not more than 5.

Good luck!

I think the Hand Wash cycle would be fine but do not use a low water level since the clothes could become tangled.

If it is a front-load machine, the hand-wash cycle is pretty close to washing by hand.

When my clothes say that, I just use the gentle cycle and lay out to dry. Good luck:)
