After cleaning my microwave oven, I find that the smell still remains in what was cooked or warmed previously.

What can I do to remove the smell AFTER I've cleaned the oven?

Is there something I can use to kill the oder of foods prepared earlier?

Thanx

In our house, we wet a dishtowel, pour lemon juice on it, and microwave for three mins, let stand for five, and wipe out. Do that twice a week and it will smell fresh always. Also be sure to wipe out any splatters after each use.

To clean the Microwave I use a microwave safe bowl of water with a little baking soda in it. I turn on the Microwave for like 15 min. When its done cooking, I remove the bowl and wipe down the walls, the ceiling, and the door of the Microwave. The stains are gone and so are the smells.

I keep a small bowl with about 1/4 cup of baking soda in it and keep this in my microwave when it is not in use. I find this much easier than wiping it out after each use if there are no splatters. This way it always smells fresh.

I use comet and hot water. If you still have a stench, I would leave an open box of Arm and Hammer at least over night. This will absorb the odors. Also, a cotton ball soaked in pure vanillla extract acts as a great odor killer! Just don't micro with it in there!

I just clean my microwave with baking soda and water and it keeps the microwave smelling fresh and clean.

I think the smells get inside the door and inside the unit where you can't get to them. Try just opening the door overnight and let it air out.

I spray windex, because ammonia gets rid of odors, let it sit for a minute or two then rinse with a cloth or sponge!!

my mom would use black carbon or charcoal pellets (i don't what u call them at your place), leave a couple of them overnight and the smell/stench will be absorbed.
