I have noticed that wherever I set the plant, days later there are little oily droplets all over the tabletop and wall behind it. What the heck is it?

I have torn the carpet up and smell it a little bit in the pad but I also smell it in the wall. No signs of black mildew or mold, just smell. Our house was built 4 years ago. The smell is located in the corner of our bedroom which is the corner of our house.

I grouted the joints on a kitchen counter of porcelain tile with polyblend. It dried faster than I had expected and I'm having a really hard time cleaning it off. I've tried everything I can think of, i.e. plastic sponge, hot water, with as much pressure as I can. I've run out of ideas. I've been working on this all day and it's only half done...any ideas?

I have a lot a house plans and need a way to store them for easy access. I had rather not keep them rolled up. I was hoping for a way to organize and store out of sight, maybe in some sort of furniture. I have looked at office depot and they have a hanger system and a cart that separates them into square cubicles. I really do not like either, I was hoping for something that looks more like furniture.

What is the most economical way to run gas central heating? One person says leave it on all the time because, what it takes to heat up the rads when you've let them cool down is more than it takes to maintain them at the same temperature. Can I have some expert advice on this, please? It seems to me that it has to be more economical to turn it off for twelve hours and leave it on for twelve hours: on from 6am until 10 am and then back on at 4pm til 12.

the pour? planning on erecting a metal building but i would rather pour the slab first and figure out the placement of the load bearing verticals later for numerous reasons i wont go into here. (for specification im referring of course to long term strength in 3-5000 psi concrete fully cured, unified slab, with the footer below anchor pads 12" deep. vs long term strength of the good quality 2-part porcelain epoxy with the bolt driven as deep as allowed.)

I have two thin cracks between two pieces of drywall in my celing. The cracks are right in where the spackeling is applied. I have also noticed that over the years, the spackeling in my celing has "expanded" where you could notice where the peices of drywall were patched together.

I have a one story house with my attic directly above. What do you think the cause of this is?

Thanks for your input!

Every time I put new cotton clothes in the wash they come out with what appears to be orangey spots on them. This also sometimes happens with older clothes. Usually they are darker colored like dark gray or brown. The spots look like bleach spots and can range from large fading areas to small concentrated spots. I do not use bleach at all. What's the deal???

I have a room that has no light fixture,Idea's to turn a lamp shade into the light fixture cover? Adding something to the shade maybe?
The light is there...2 bulbs and a spiral post coming down from that . It is a old house. I think there was probally something very pretty there but it's long gone now. I have a lamp shade that reminds me of Old victorian times. It's cloth. I would have to put it on upside down on the ceiling. But how to decorate it? Hot glue and what? I am doing the room as a dressing room,2 closits and our dressers,a vanity table and mirror, I want old world/victorian.

Someone in my family was very sick recently and happened to do so on my new sofa, what do you use to clean fabric and take the smell out? I don't want to just spray frebreez on it before it is clean. So what is best to clean and remove the smell, but is still safe for microfiber. I think the people at Ashley (where we got it from) said resolve would be ok. I know to test it first, but I do not want to waste the money on it if someone knows it will not work. Thanks!!

With the exception of t shirts, underwear and socks of course. Slacks I might wear at least twice, some collared shirts twice. Sweatshirts...4 or 5 times. Jeans, forget about it....2 weeks. Who agrees? (or thinks this is gross)
