WD-40 is usually the best way, however, with new and different types of glues being used, it takes different methods. I would try one of the two following (if WD-40 does not work). First, try Easy Off oven cleaner (leave on about a minute), and second, try a hair blower (on high setting), then scrap off. A combination of the some of the above might be necessary! Good luck!

There are good products you can buy for that in craft stores. But if you don't want to buy something, here's another idea...
Depending on the amount of gunk, sometimes it works to take a piece of scotch tape and stick it on/off/on/off really fast. That will pick up some of it.

Wet a rag & lay it on the sticker for 15 minutes then scrape it off with your fingernail. If there is any residue remove it with Goo-Gone.

windex and a razor blade work best without residue from oils or harsh smells from chemicals. simply spray windex on the sticker, let it soak for a few mins then scrape with a razor blade. once you have everything scraped off, use a soft cloth as you would cleaning glass.

Goo Gone works great on a many number of things including glue residue. You will have to wash the glass afterwords because it is very oily.

Mineral Spirits works great or any acetone product such as nail polish. Alcohol will work also. Use a scraper or razor blade for easier removal.

I soak it with a little olive oil for a few minutes and then use a plastic scrubbie to rub with. If it's really stubborn use a little detergent and warm water on the scrubbie.
