Just a fair warning....please check out which ever contractor you decide to hire. Make sure he builds to "every" code and in order to do that you will need to be there 24/7 to watch. Not all codes are checked by the building code officials.
I'm having a battle with my contractor after 18 months in my new home. Oh yeah, it's beautiful...but too bad he hired masons that didn't follow the code and bricked my house without the proper flashing or anchoring. He also didn't waterproof the foundation. These two major things have cause water intrusion.
Do yourself a favor and do a search for construction defects and read all about these contractors that don't follow all the codes and about all the new homeowners that are suffering because of it. Here's one...check out www.hobb.org/
It's called Homeowners for Better Building
or check out www.hadd.com
It's called Homeowners Against Deficient Dwellings

Good luck and beware!!!!!!!
