I have a lot a house plans and need a way to store them for easy access. I had rather not keep them rolled up. I was hoping for a way to organize and store out of sight, maybe in some sort of furniture. I have looked at office depot and they have a hanger system and a cart that separates them into square cubicles. I really do not like either, I was hoping for something that looks more like furniture.

"ksuetx" is right. Flat file cabinets are made specifically for storing blueprints, art prints, and other large flat paper items that you do not wish to roll, fold, or hang. They are indeed available through many office supply businesses, but they can be very expensive. Even "cheap" ones cost a fair amount of money.

If you are in the building business, it might make sense to make the investment in a flat file cabinet. It you don't have lots of plans to store, you can store them in a garmet box that fits under a bed. These storage boxes are available in many widths and lengths and are not very high. They are ideal for storing blueprints and other large paper items. Best of all, they are extremely cheap. You can sometimes find them at the big box home improvement retailers as well as places like WalMart. Office supply stores also sometimes carry them.

Good luck with your storage solutions.

If you are in the United States- then part of us being a free country is that (within limits) each citizen is allowed to do as they wish with any property they own. If we were not allowed such freedom then this could not be called a free country. The limits that are imposed are why the local government is having those meetings. You really need to investigate what the local legal limits are and what basis you have to fight this. One may be that you could collect a large amount of money and buy the land or get your local government to raise taxes and buy the land and hold it as a public park- that is what you seem to wish. No reason to force the current owner to do something he doesn't want to do.

Flat files are what you are looking for.

These are multiple drawers that are wide and deep into cabinet buy shallow.

You can buy modern, traditional, metal, wood, full stack, or short.

Most serious office supplies carry these at least through their catalog.
