If you "steam " them you could Heat the stains into the material and they will be really difficult to remove. Find a commercial upholstery cleaner that is in a liquid form and mix it as per the instructions into a small amount of water. use a clean(new) sponge and make some suds, then clean the cushions with just the foam. this will remove the dirt and also freshen the fabric. remember to give them a really good vacuuming before you clean them as well, that also helps to remove a lot of the dust that accumulates and you won't be pushing it into the fabric. After cleaning them place a fan so that it blows towards the couch and that should help them dry quickly. (you can also use a mild clear dish soap to make the foam cleaner)

Take the covers off (the unzip) and throw them in the washer with detergent, then the dryer. I recommend fabric softener mainly for the smell.

Normally I just take my cushions out onto the deck and hose them down pretty good, then let them dry in the sun. Since the deck has holes, they don't mildew and sun-baked cushions smell delightful. However, you have no time for that, so ....

I'm sure that the steam washer will do the work perfectly.

I would not recommend washing them. I would get a can of upholstery shampoo (foam) clean them, let them dry (do not get real wet) and then spray Febreeze on them. Will work great!!!!

Didn't your steamer come with an instruction manual? It should tell you everything you would want to know. If you can't find the manual or didn't get one go to the companies online site....they'd probably have instructions or FAQ there.
