Sometime around the time that my mother passed away, when I was very vulnerable, a cat showed up around my house. I took it in against the rules of my lease, and THEN found out that my best friend is severely allergic to cats. I didn't know it was such a hardship for her but she gets really sick and hasn't come over since I had the cat. The cat is now gone but I need to get rid of the allergens left behind, I want my friend back!

I do have an ionic air purifier, how much is this going to help? I have carpeted surfaces and also vinyl flooring, not much soft furniture except my bed and a chair. Add to this that I am going through the household to finally declutter behind my late mother and sort items for passing on to family members...so the cleaning process will be harder because I am having to shift things around that are in limbo.

Don't want to steam clean the carpets, I did this recently and can't afford it or the time. Any other cheap, easy solutions? Products?

If i were to grow a garden in my new back yard (in pots though, ground is too hard) is the vegetable considered organic if grown in organic soil and I dont use pesticides on it? Or does the ACTUAL SEED have to be organic?

I live with two roommates and it has quickly turned into a problem (mostly for one roommate) not cleaning. We've decided to make a chore list.
I'm looking for a basic outline I can find online where i can later add specifics for our needs.
Some kind of general outline. Anything is helpful, thanks

Ok the power in the bathroom went out along with one plug in the garage at the opposite end of the house. I switched out the light plug and GFI in the bathroom(old wiring). The light worked but not GFI. after a couple of days it started going out again. A couple of days at a time then work for a couple. An electrican came out and redid my work. And it does the same thing. Any tips's. A short in the lightfixture maybe?Does anyone know the next step I take to troubleshoot?

In a friend's home, a she walks over to an end table, reaches for the lamp, and sometimes there is a musical noise that sounds like one of those musical greeting cards. Cannot figure out where the sound is coming from. Any ideas? Electrical problem or what?!?

I bought a wall border for my daughter's room, on the package it said pre-pasted but when I moistened the back of the border it wasn't sticky. I've never hung a border before so I'm not quite sure what to do....

We have a grand piano that I assume has a black lacquer finish. We have allowed a thin coating of dust to accumulate on the top.

Does anyone know how to get the dust off so we don't scratch the finish? We have a polishing cloth that came with the piano, but I'm afraid of causing scratches with the dust on the surface.

I have a townhome of 2062 square feet with 800 of those feet upstairs. How so I determine if I need a 2 ton or 3 ton A/C? I'm afraid that contractors will always want to sell me a larger unit. Would the installation be cheaper if I replaced the furnace at the same time?

I just painted my kitchen a deep red color (Raspberry Truffle from Benjamin Moore). My floor tile is a stone with light and dark brown and some cream and grey mixed in. I started to paint the ajoining hall and entry a taupe color and it looks awful. I think the red is making it have an orange tint to it and making it look like a flesh color. I am thinking of painting it a mustard yellow color but am afraid it will look orange because of the red. Any suggestions?
