all very dark colors. it would depend on what the rest of the house has, and what colors the other rooms are that are attached to that hall.
i would keep it in the food family. sounds like your baking a pie, so i would keep pie colors. i would use that same red, and add some yellow to that. it will make it orange, but with the same flavor as the kitchen...
or - maybe this. maybe you can paint the halls rasberry, same as the kitchen. and place a dark orange over that, but sponge it on. it would add texture and two colors are once. the dark orange would compliment the floors. and as for trim, i would make that a crust color.

Pick a color out of the floor color if the entry way and kitchen have the same flooring. I personally think a cream color would be nice. Home Depot makes a Navajo White paint that looks a little like maple cream, I think that might just go beautifully. The mustard color might be a little too contrasting, leaving you with a ketchup and mustard mix.

Try doing an accent wall with just the red and paint the rest of the walls tan. OR you can paint the walls tan and do red accents with your accessories, small counter-top appliances, etc. I have a red, white & blue kitchen and thought about painting the walls red too, but red is really not a good color for a "food room" - it tends to have a negative pyschological effect. Instead, I used lots of red accents and decorations. Also, consider the size of your kitchen and whether or not a dark color like red will visually "shrink" the room. With the dark cabinets, it probably would. Good luck!

Mustard sounds nice, but I have to warn you about yellows....they appear much brighter once on the wall than you probably imagine (from experience!). My first thought was that you should paint it a silvery/gray color. Then I thought a light 'chocolate' color would look good too. Or you could pick up the cream color in the tile.

i had the exact opposite problem. I painted some of my walls a deep red, and then did the opposite walls in mustard. I hated it and went with a very light brown..i believe "dune" was the name of the color, and i love it! Maybe skip the grey and stick with a light light tan...good luck!

instead of worrying about colors, why don't you buy a piece of some kind of border and sort of separate it with that? You could buy border wallpaper, or you could get a piece of wood to place there say about 6 inches wide. You could even get foam board and say make it 6 inches wide and the length of the wall. Cover it with fabric that has all the colors in it or with something plain. This could be used as a border that can be hung like pictures or you could even use it as a bulletin board. You could hang photos on it or something.

Any shade of medium gray or beige. It will lighten the space. I used to have a red bathroom, with a brown hallway leading in, but it felt a little dark. I would stick to a lighter color

Try going with an off-white and accent the hallway with red and blue... at least then you have a 'theme' going. I had a red kitchen and I painted it white - just looks bigger with white.

Since you have a red kitchen, the only thing I could suggest using that won't make people sick when seeing the kitchen is a white.
