We bought home with above ground pool, it is filled but the water is black, any ideas on how to clean it. Will I need to drain it? Or can I buy chemicals? Thanks for any advice!

I wash it in the washer. After I use it, I rinse it and then lay it out so it can air dry. It still smells! My drying towels even smell too! After I wash the dishes the towel even makes my dishes smell! Any suggestions?

I just moved in to a new apartment. The living and dining rooms are connected by a large doorway, and I'd like to make some curtains that would match both colours. The living room is a lemongrass and the dining room is a nice brick red tone. I know it sounds like they clash, but they really blend quite nicely. I'm looking for a colour that will blend with both, any suggestions?

I recently bought a large Cymbidium orchid for a friend. After less than a couple of weeks all the buds and flowers fell off.

The florists where I bought it from gave me the following care instructions. Water the plant by spraying the soil to keep it moist. Never let it dry out, and don't spray the flowers. I was also told to feed the plant every two weeks with orchid plant food.

My friend placed the plant in her living room during the day and moved it to the cooler kitchen in the evening. The living room was occasionally warm, and sometimes humid as it's just off the kitchen.

After the buds and flowers fell off my friend searched the internet for some advice and was told to move the plant to a cooler room. It has now been placed on the windowsill in a cooler room where is it left day and night.

Can anyone help explain why this may have happened and what I should tell her to do to get it to flower again?

Thank you

I'm hoping someone can offer either advice on how to handle hard water in our home or shed some light on a good place to go first for help. We moved into our new home about 2 years ago now. We didn't notice it at first, but now we are seeing buildup around our faucets, our dishes come out of the washer with hardwater stains, and even our dogs water bowl is showing rings that are proving impossible to clean!!

Can anyone else relate to this problem and maybe give suggestions on what to do? Does a water softener help this? Does hard water pose any health issues?

Thanks for your help!

My sons spilled a container of gasoline (for cars) in the hallway of my house. I cleaned it with dish soap and water, and threw out the rug, but the smell is overpowering even after 3 days. What can I do to get rid of this, or what can I use that will make it better.

The dial moves all the way through the normal wash cycle but when the pointer reaches the final spin cycle, the dial stays on spin and never moves to the off position. Any advice on how to fix the problem would be great!!! Thanks!

We were just hit with another huge LP bill. Has anyone removed their propane and replaced it with electrical. We have oil heat, and LP for the hot water, dryer and cooking. But $150 a month to heat water and dry clothes, we only cook on the weekend, seems outrageous! I was also wondering if oil burning water heaters were available. If so, we may just go with electric appliances and change the water heater to oil.

Thanks.

Here are the details.
I live in a house that I rent. I do NOT own. I stress this because there are certain things that I cannot do to the house. That being said..
What I want is some advice on how to fix my basement so that it is liveable. It is now a storage area. The floor is not done, nor is the ceiling. I want to consolidate all our junk and have more space. But I need some ideas of what I can do to the space. Espcially the ceiling and the floor. The gas and hot water are also down there. They are in a corner so I thought I could block them off. Any and all advice is appreciated (well within reason) Thank you so much for your help. Please ask any question if you need and I will try to get back to you soon as I can.

I've had this cooler for 2 years and haven't cleaned through the system. I've surface cleaned it obviously but not inside inside. I heard you can run bleach through it to clean it but am hesitant towards doing that. Any ideas?
