I've had this cooler for 2 years and haven't cleaned through the system. I've surface cleaned it obviously but not inside inside. I heard you can run bleach through it to clean it but am hesitant towards doing that. Any ideas?

Vinegar sounds like the best idea to me but the manufactures do say bleach is OK in SMALL amounts. The big worry everyone seems to have is that you unplug the machine before you begin so as not to electrocute yourself. :)

I don't think it would be wise to use bleach. White vinegar is always a good option for cleaning things, but you need to know the proper method to use.

If you don't have the instructions that came with it anymore, try searching on the internet for the name of the manufacturer. There might be some advice there on how to clean it thoroughly. Or call the company you bought it from.

Don't do bleach! You shouldn't' put any chemicals into something you will be injesting later. You could become really sick and have permanent damage from injesting bleach (even in small amounts).

The best thing to put in it would be vinegar but then you would have to run a good amount of water though it to get the vinegar taste out (but at least vinegar is injestable).

Try running white vinegar through it with water (like a coffee maker) and that should help if you are hesitant to use bleach.
