I need to clean my couch made out of micro fiber. I have read a few previous answers to this question about just using a damp cloth. That just does not seem like enough cleaning to me. Would it be safe to have it steam cleaned or a scotch guard put on it after cleaning?

I was debating whether to recycle it or donate it. Its been sitting in a crawlspace in a sealed plastic container. But the crawlspace is dusty, had a mini-flood, ect...what do you think?

It's not worth the cost of repair, but I'm wondering if there could be something simple gone wrong I could tinker with.

It's almost identical to this one:

Any tips...?

I have big windows and i am looking to redecorate. I have many windows in my home so i was thinking of trying to make my curtains myself. I priced some curtains i like but they were $49.99 each and i would need 2 panels on each window and i have 9 windows to cover..could get pricey. I want something cute like not cheap looking but easy to make. Any suggestions? Should i go with just flat curtains or should i have 2 flat panels with the sheer behind it and the valance layover? LOL i don't have many people over my house because i am redoing it so i would like it to be eye friendly and not ugly. Thank you for any help!!

When I bought house and had survey done I was told that there was asbestos present in the concrete sheeting. Is this only the roof or will it also be present in the concrete walls. Is it the dangerous stuff and does anyone know a rough price on removal? Thanks

Just an arguement between me and my parents. Weird, but yeah. Turning pants completely inside out... doesn't that keep the dark colored pants from fading?

Some clowns decided to make it look like we had a White Christmas, by dumping copius amounts of flour on my lawn. It may have seemed funny to them, but I'm left with quite a mess, and very irrate neighbors, due to the smell that permiates the air around my property!

If I know that the Electrical Equipment is working at say 40% then I am paying for say 100 and getting 40 out of it and 60% of electricity is just wasted. Also washing, for example done during the pre-defined cycle would also be of inferior quality. Then I may buy a new equipment which will have higher efficiency and thereby also improve the end result - better washing quality. And more importantly save the electricity wastage and also save my money. Same is true for Fridge and other equipments. If I save 1 unit daily then I would end up saving 365 x Rs.5 per unit =Rs.1825 in a year. Imagine if 1 Crore people are using washing machines/fridge in India it would amount to what?

We have an old Zanussi washing machine that stillw washes fine but occasionally leaves black marks on clothes. This doesn't happen all the time. The filter is regularly cleaned and the black marks appear to come through the holes in the drum as an imprint can often been seen. Can anyone advise where this black dirt arises from and how I might deal with it without having an expensive call out? Thanks everyone ,,,,,,
