Micro fiber cleaning?

I need to clean my couch made out of micro fiber. I have read a few previous answers to this question about just using a damp cloth. That just does not seem like enough cleaning to me. Would it be safe to have it steam cleaned or a scotch guard put on it after cleaning?

We have a recliner with micro fiber and we have used "Prestone Interior Cleaner with Odor Neutralizer" with good success. You can probably find in in the automotive section in Wal-Mart or similar store. Try it on the back first to be sure it will be ok.
