My home is heated with a gas heater, the front of it says Janitrol. Lately, the heater has been "starting" but not lighting. The far left blower gets really really red, and it makes the clicking noise, then all four burners light up for about 3 seconds, and then kicks off. However, I have found that if I stand behind the heater, and use a shirt or something to "fan" in air while it is lighting, it will stay lit. Can anyone please tell me why this is happening? The filter on it is new, so I hope that's not the case.
Also, each time it kicks on is a one and done deal. It heats up the whole house just fine, but then once it kicks off, it won't come back on on it's own. I have to repeat the fanning process time and time again.
