Paint, Paint, Paint. If your folks will allow you too. By changing the wall colour alone, you can set a statement of your own style. If they have issues, ask to paint just one wall. This allone will also change the tone. Bedding is also important. I suggest getting a Duvet. They will come with pillow shames too. Another suggestion is to change the positioning of your bed. Try putting it in a corner coming out, or even using it as a Daybed by turning everything sideways. This will give it a feel as if is a couch. You could get a mosquite nett to hang from the ceiling and give the bed an intimate feel.
As said previously, Ikea is a wonderful Idea. They are cheap cheap cheap and have the best contempary things for teens and college students. Ikea is an international company so hopefully they have one near you. Keep them in mind and Good Luck!!!!

Hi Ally,
You don't say whether you like your wallpaper? If you do, great. If not, it is possible to paint over wallpaper.
Other cool ideas.
For the coolest look, you want no more than 3 colours in your room. the main colour and 2 accent colours. If you stick with the wallpaper, your main colour would be blue, one of the accent colours the colour of your stars, and one other colour that you like with the blue. You could paint the stars gold or silver if you prefer.
Mobiles give a different perspective to the room and allow you to have a non fussy decoration. Or you could make your own mirror ball.
To make your own mirror ball: a plastic ball the size of your choice. Put a small hole in the top, pour some oil in it and move around so the ball is lined. fill with plaster and leave to set, first making sure that your string, cord or florist wire is well embedded. When the plaster has set, cut off ball.you can then fix your mirror tiles on with grout which is cheap from DIY store. For a more unusual look, get those free cd s in shops (AOL etc). Cut them up with tin snips and mosaic them on rather than the mirror tiles. Very cool.
You can also make mobiles from old/free cds. either hang up as is or glue two together, shiny side out. drill a hole in the top and thread with fishing line.
You can never have enough cushions! these can be expensive, but a cooler look (and more environmentally friendly) is to turn your old clothes in to cusions. old jeans could go well with the walls. sparkly tops you've grown out of would go with the stars. Use your imagination and raid charity shops.
Another thing you can do with old clothes/bedding etc (and free!!!) is to make a rag rug. choose clothes in the colours you want. there are instructions in adundance on the internet of how to make. I recommend the plaited style. I have made lots of these and the look great and are very comfortable to walk on. The best look is acheived when you have lightest colour in the middle and work out to the darkest. Again using your three colours.
Windows
Depends whether anyone can see in your room, but sheer fabrics look fab, especially when layered.

You can make a matching canopy or fake four poster quite easily. If you want to do this, email me and I'll give directions.
Mirrors make the room seem even bigger. A "patchwork" of old mirrors looks FAB. Hunt charity shops, grans garage etc for as many old mirrors that you can lay your hands on. Put the biggest up, and arrange the others around it with about a 10cm gap in between.
If you collect handbags necklaces or hats, display them. Paint a square on the wall in an accent colour. Either paint or glue a wooden frame around it, put nails or cup hooks or even better, small door knobs in a pleasing arangment in the frame and hang up your collection.
If you are allowed, paint your furniture so it all matches. Pick out bits with a blue similar to your walls and add stars to match where you think they will look good.
Storage. At least 20% of a bedroom should be storage. You can find an old second hand wood wardrobe for about £30. paint as a bove. or you can hide an alcove with matching curtain. A look that would go nice with the stars is a curtain, and then over that, one of these gem bead curtains.
Lampshades can be made from anything, but need to be heat treated. It would also be safer to use an energy saving light bulb. (you get the heat treatment from DIY shack) Use the frame of the one already there. Either paint or decorate it, or take it to bits and do your own thing. If using cds drill a hole top and bottom of the cd so it doesn't turn into the bulb.
Hope it's given you food for thought. ENJOY!
All the best

Ikea have got really funky accesories.
You can get cool stickers - silver swirls/squares/circles from places like Focus/B & Q that can jazz up your walls a bit.
I also bought a stencil for my walls and a couple of tester pots of paint and painted shapes on my wall alternating colours for a cool/jazzy effect.
You may even get things like this is the pound shop!

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/qjCqV
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
