Flashing lights work because of the red tipped bulb being talked about above. That's when whole strings flash on and off together. Sparkle lights are all independent of each other and work by temperature. I have never seen a GE string where the lights aren't replaceable because sparkle lights tend to burn out faster than solid burn lights. Check again to see if you can remove the bulb and socket. You should be able to--as I say to be able to replace burned out bulbs. Replace the sparkle bulb with a solid burn bulb. Make sure the volts on the replacement are the same so they are the same brightness.
If the bulbs really cannot be removed you're out of luck.

GE says you can't...The Sparkle bulbs are permanently attached to the bases ans these bases are different from the steady burning bases. And they are both different from normal bases. I finally got used to the blinking, but replacement bulbs for the strands are hard to find (not retail) and the whole strands seem to quit working more easily that the "cheapy" strands

most sparkle lights have a special bulb in the first spot in the strand. when the filament gets hot, it expands and breaks the circuit. then it cools, it forms the circuit again, and the lights go back on. replacing that bulb with a normal one should do the trick.

the bulb that makes the strand sparkle should be the only one with a red tip. Most strands have a plain one included that you can just replace

Did you figure this out? We have the same lights on our tree and I really do not like the fast flashing, and it s not controlled by the typical red-tipped bulb.
