I live in a apartment building & my bathroom is flooded with over 2 inches of water and it keeps coming as soon as I can bail it out. I called the manager yesterday ( because there isnt one in this 4o unit building for about two months now ) and he said he cant get anyone here until Monday. While my bathroom is a lake and it keeps rising. I want to know can I call a plumber and give them a bill. I havent paid rent yet and I can take it out of that. What is the law on this? Do they have a specified amount of time to fix it in this condition? Can I take it out of the rent? Help!! And fast please.

Call the fire dept that will get someone there sooner and you will have all your problems over with, you could get shocked and then they would be in more problems than just flood water, and plumbers work on the weekends they just charge more

Ok! Put into the search bar, California Tenant's Handbook.

Or try California Department of Consumer Affairs. Hope that does it. Good Luck!

Richard B is right, call the fire department and tell them your situation. There are other hazards there also, especially in the bathroom. There are bio hazards. If you have children, its all the more reason to take care of this as soon as possible.

Call him again. Tell him this is an emergency situation. If he does'nt want to call someone NOW, you will. Have you thought of turning the water off ???? Yes,I believe you can take it out of the rent...
