How do I get the candle out?

Your answers are good but I want to salvage the candle (that's the part I need)

Hot water. Set it in a container of hot water. The candle will slip right out of the candle holder in a few seconds.

The Candle WILL be salvaged and in perfect working order.

It really depends on the type of wax and also what the container is made out of...if the surface is rough or smooth.

This works for some candles...

Put the holder in hot water for about a minute. Using a butter knife or a letter opener, you can stab the candle and pull it out or turn the holder upside-down while slipping the knife along the inside edge of the candle. Quickly wipe down the inside of the container with a paper toowel to remove any wax residue.

Another thing to try is putting the candle in the freezer. Some candle wax will contract. Then, you do the same thing as above. Some candles will just pop right out when inverted or tapped.

By heating the outside of the surface of the metal or wood that holds the wax.Try to use a gentle heat source, like a hair dryer...This in turn will cause the molecules to heat up and soon the candle should slide right out.Make sure that when you pull on the candle, grab it the base at to not break it.Good luck...Tom Science 4...Not to dis but the people stating that the candle will come out frozen,no way, they are wrong since wax contains some water and water expands when frozen, making friction increase .

Put the complete holder with candle in it into the freezer for overnight. In the morning remove candle from holder as it will have shrunk and can be easily taken out

I didn't check image yet. Putting it in the freezer might help.

I wouldn't do anything with heat, cause' parafin wax has a very low melting point, and can easily catch fire.

Ice should make the wax brittle, which could make it easier to pry it out.

Put it in the freezer for a hour or so and shake it, it should pop right out! Plus there is no waxy mess from heating it. I do this alot.
Good Luck

Addition:
Freezing it will save the candle.

Put the whole thing in the freezer and let it sit for a while and the candle will slide right out

Get a candle warmer (or you probably could even try a hot plate), and let the candle get very liquidy and pour the wax into a disposable container.

Don't try and heat the container in an attempt to melt the wax out. Simply use a fork or knife to gouge the candle out. When you get to the end, use a towel.. eventually it will be clean.

Again, don't try to heat it as it may explode...

MICROWAVE OVEN BUT WATCH CLOSELY BECAUSE OF SPARK FROM METAL IN BOTTOM OF WICK. ALSO SOAKING IT IN VERY HOT WATER WILL MEALT AND RELASE THE OUTSIDE EDGES OF THE CANDLE SO YOU CAN SLIDE IT OUT.
