We discovered the signs of an unwelcome visitor this morning. How do I show him the door? I have pets and a baby so I don't want to use poison.

Rats at my home have become immune to all those poison-filled-sweets or food items now as they can identify them!!!! They dont even eat it now.
I also tried that rat sound system whose advt. claimed that rats will go away after hearing the 'shrill' noise which can be heard only by rats!!!! They are still there.

How to remove these rats from my home? Practical remedies only plz.

I purchased a kitchen cart from Ikea that is bare wood. I would like to stain it, but I am wondering if I should stain it before assembly or after? My friends tell me before, because it will be easier. Makes sense to me, but I'm terrible at home projects, so I thought I'd see if I can get more input!

I'm asking because I heard that I should add 1/2 white vinegar to the final rinse cycle of each load of laundry, but I'm not sure as to what the vinegar is supposed to do. Also, I'm wondering if the laundry will then smell like vinegar.

I have two pairs of shoes near a window (one are leather, others are man-made polyester - type material). Both have become mouldy. I am able to remove the insoles from the polyester shoes and so I did for easy-cleaning. Upon doing this, I noticed lots of little bugs that are white-ish in colour and about a millimetre in size. There are around 2 per square centimetre.

What are they? They are crawling, not hopping, and have legs (although they're too small to count how many).

Does this fit in with the decription of flea larvae? Please help!

Thanks!

I have bled the radiators and drained the expansion tank. The noise sounds like water boiling or percolating in the boiler and it resonates thru the system .Any other ideas?
Thanks

Okay, so I just moved from one apartment to another, in the old apartment while moving I came across some mold in a closet, of course it ruined a lot of clothing/shoes and other stuff. But while I was sorting some stuff out I had found a box of cd's that had been near the closet and the bottom of the box had mold all over it. Well, the bottom layer of the cd's have mold on them. I've read that bleach can get rid of the mold, but then I had a neighbor tell me that the plastic of the cd can absord the mold. Is this true?
