Pour in a bottle of CLR (Calcium,Lime, Rust, ) Remover or Lime Away in the tank and let it sit for a couple of hours. All that crud will be gone.

Bleach. Use a bleach tablet that you can drop in the tank, it will last about a month and keep the tank and bowl fresh. You'll still need to clean the bowl regularly but it will be less dirty overall.

Pour a can of Coke (must be regular not Diet) and leave overnight. Flush through next day - might have to lightly brush over any bits. Well this really works, try it.

I have tried some of the shampoos (its expiry date passed)...... and it worked really good.
people also suggest some soft drinks(having pesticides....)
