You should be able to just don't go crazy with spraying them down. and make sure they dry completely before putting the pillowcases back on.

I use Febreze on all of my feather pillows, and it works great.

First wash them, hang them out to dry in the fresh air. If you still need to Frebreze, then go for it.

yes, but like the first answer, you can wash them in delicate wash and hang dry them using fabric softener will really help ,
