Ever since I moved in my apartment weird things have been happening that neither me or my boyfriend can figure out why.Im hoping that someone here might be able to think of something we havent come up with yet. When I first moved in my landlord assured me that the locks were rekeyed, but I would lock all the locks on the door in the evening and when I wake up the doors are unlocked and sometimes partially opened and cabinet doors would be opened but nothing taken.I was certain someone had a key so my landlord changed the locks. For 3 wks nothing but now its happening again.Last night my boyfriends dog stayed with me but he (who barks at everything because its not a familiar enviroment) didnt bark like someone had come in.Also, I have a touch lamp in the living room that keeps turning on by itself.I know that power surges can cause this but the light will go from dim to bright and not turn off. When I turn it off a min later its back on. I had a repair guy look at, he said its fine.

My boiler is reading 10 psi and my top radiators are not getting filled. The feeder valve's lever is no longer, it seems to have broken off. I bought the house this way a few years back and each year the same problem on the top floor. I want to know what I have to do in order to get heat to the top without having to call someone in all the time. Also, I've been told there is an expansion tank somewhere that should be drained. Could that be causing my low pressure? Is that a must, the previous owner drywalled it into the ceiling somewhere?

Thanks,

TheOnyxGuy

I've glued plastic to metal and it will be under heat. Its been drying for about half an hour now-will it be dry enough to put under heat conditions. We're talking about near the fan on a combi boiler.

My bathroom has white fixtures, but cream colored tile on the walls and floor. The white of the fixtures tends to make the cream colored tiles appear dingy, no matter how clean they are. Does anyone have any suggestions of paint colors for the wall area that might offset the "clash" of the white parts and cream parts in such a way to make the whole bathroom look more attractive? I don't know whether a really bright color, or a really muted color, or a pastel color would be best for this purpose.

I have two leaks in my roof. One leaks over front door and one over sliding glass door in back. They are in a straight line from front to back of house. The leaks are coming through at the top of the doors. In one case (pulled sheetrock for other reasons) I can see it dripping through along nail holes. Checked shingles and have reseated/replaced nails and put roof sealant and caulk over the nail heads and reseated shingles. Still have leaks.

Split design for roof (L shape roof on rancher - main part (where leaks are) is 1 story, then rises to rest of house which is 2 stories high). Been told that this is a common problem for these designs. Was told to put roofing patch on the valley formed by the split - still not fixed - but helped. Roof otherwise fine. Mulitple roofers said I don't need to replace it. They offer suggestions - say easy to fix - any ideas as to what to try. Otherwise waiting until they schedule time to work it. Or how can I find exact leak locations?

It looks like the silver specks on top are gone and no cleaner will remove the stain. It almost looks rubbed off. Has anyone been able to clean something like this or do you know if I can replace the ceramic section of the stove?
