I recently removed some drywall from the early 70s from a small bathroom. It may have contained asbestos (at least the compound might have?). Any idea what the risk to me is in doing this? Will asbestos particles float around in my home for eternity!

So, I bought this angle grinder, 4.5 inches I think the wheel is. I also bought this wheel for grinding metal. It's got a threaded hub and a nut on it. But it looks like the nut side is supposed to go against the grinder. And the nut is so thin, that a box end wrench won't fit in there. So, how is this supposed to be done?

im looking for some ideas how to store toys so that they are easy to take out when my children (under 4) want to play and easy to put away when they are done. They hv lots of toys which are scattered all over the place esp the ones which have small parts.
Will the open shelving system in their play room work? thanks in advance.

i'm trying to build an electric bike and all the nuts seem to have some rubber inside the thread which means the nut won't go all the way down the screw, so I can't tighten it. Do you think I'm supposed to scrape the rubber out somehow? One of the nuts has the rubbery bit missing and seems to work fine.

Does anyone have an idea of what a comparable central heating unit (electric) would cost. We have converted everything else over to electricity (range and water heater) and would really like to change the heating too. The unit that we have is about 10 years old and works perfectly but we also would like to put in a new one because we are selling the house in a few months and "new" always sells better. Any idea of cost of conversion and cost of unit. I know I can call a heating & air company but it is midnight now and they are not open and I am curious.

I wont spare the details.

Out of anger at me, one of my cats peed on my keyboard bag. Of course, I need that bag to carry my keyboard to various practices and gigs. Also, since I was away on a trip, I did not discover that my cat had done this until maybe about a week later.

The smell seems to have dissapated, but I am not sure how to go about cleaning the bag without ruining it or making a horrible mix of smells. This is some very thick material, about blanket-thickness.

any suggestions on how to clean the bag and get the smell out would be GREATLY appreciated. Help?

Washing machines destroy my jeans afer a few washes. I've tried turning them inside out & putting them in a tied bag when I wash them. I also have tried different detergents, even "natural ones".

Nothing helps - They always look worn out, esp black jeans.

Any suggestions ?

Can it be translated to inches? I was looking at a description of a metal pipe that said "10 gauge 2 bolt clamp hinge" but I couldn't find the defination of "gauge" anywhere. I'd really appreciate it if anyone can answer that for me.

I bought 5 inch round mirrors at the dollar store. I think their original purpose was as trivits, but they look just like the ones in designer Magazines. They're pretty light, but I don't think poster putty will hold them and I don't want them to fall. They don't have any type of hook on the back to hang them and if I glued one on they wouldn't be flat to the wall.

What can I use that won't wreck the paint?(I live in an apt.) I could put holes in the wall but I want them to look flush with the wall. Is there anything similar to poster putty that isn't damaging?

thanx
