I'm starting to finish the basement & not sure what size cabinets I can fit into the area for the wetbar area. Is there a free planner on the net that I could use in planning for the cabinets?

Thanks for all the replies about how to get a new storage heater fitted. Have now bought a new one (for a couple of hundred £) and found an electrician to install/fit it. He's saying £60 to do the job – does that sound reasonable for an installation fee?

I have washed my new black towels over 6 times now, and every time I use them they shed black fibres all over face and body, as well as all over my white bathroom. I have tried washing them both with and without fabric conditioner, at the recommended temperature, but they still shed.

Any answers please?

Thanks

Just wondering if anyone has any advice propogaring Hardy Hibiscus from a root cutting? I took a small piece of root (about 6") with several small root threads coming off of it. I have in planted in potting soil and am trying to propogate it over the winter.

Anyone done this before? Any opinions or advice would be very much appreciated.

We are installing a new floor and want to put an underlayment subfloor down first. Can we put the underlayment over the old vinyl tiles or do we have to pull up the vinyl tiles prior to instlalling the underlament. The extra height the vinyl adds will be minimal.

I have placed moth balls in my attic to fend off squirrels, but I can smell them. Its not strong, just a small hint of mothness in the air. Just wanted to know if I will need to take them out or will the smell fade away.

The plug is is usually opened by turning a lever which pushes it up and down. The bit which usually attaches to that opening mechanism has fallen off so the lug is in the plug hole but the opening mechanism can't open it. I can't get the plug out - have tried with a knife and also with a magnet but neither can get it out.. obviously can't use shower or bath as the water can't drain so really need help please!!

Do you think it would be cheeky to ask him when he is at the sink filling his bucket with fresh warm water?
How much cheek should i have to ask him to do other things like the ironing etc.

Before I throw away the nappies, I wrap them in scented nappy bags but the bin still smells and by the time the bin gets full, the smell becomes unbearable. I don't really want to buy a seperate nappy bin because I think this is uneccesary. I have resorted to emptying the bin everytime my baby does a poo(which means everyday, bin bags don't come cheap) I'd like to know if there are other ways round this.

I have scrubbed it with detergent, used Febreeze and aired it many times? It still smells and creeps back onto smelling my sheets still. Any ideas?

I know window cleaners often clean our gutters.
Would you ask the window cleaner to mow the lawn?
How much would you pay him? £10?
Should he take the cuttings away? Should he bring his own mower? his own power supply?
Would it be our of order to ask him to wash a car?
What can and can't you ask them to do? what's the determining factor?

My lodger has recently left - thank goodness! But she left the room in a bad way. I have repainted the walls and cleaned the carpet. However, the carpet is so badly stained that I can not remove the stains completely. Should I ask her for some money towards this?

to straighten up the house.. Unexpected, last minute company, wants to stop by for a visit! Oh No! What to do first? What would your "frenzy" to straighten up be, on short notice?
( it's not happening to me, at the moment, BUT it could!)
