Before I throw away the nappies, I wrap them in scented nappy bags but the bin still smells and by the time the bin gets full, the smell becomes unbearable. I don't really want to buy a seperate nappy bin because I think this is uneccesary. I have resorted to emptying the bin everytime my baby does a poo(which means everyday, bin bags don't come cheap) I'd like to know if there are other ways round this.

Can't you just put the nappy straight into your outside bin and save the smell in the house and the expensive of having to change the bin bags all the time? If you can't keep going out during the day how about re-using old carrier bags during the day for nappies and then putting that into the outside bin each night?

Yes, there are other ways around this. One, you could buy 'Glen 21' odour spray sold in your local supermarket and spray the bin.
Two, you could spray each and every bag you put baby's nappy in before you tie it up to dispose. Three, why buy bin bags when you could save money too by just allowing your grocery to be placed in plastics and you could use those instead. You could just throw the poo nappies straight away in the outside bin or alternatively I know you do not want to spend money but it may be worth buying one of those special nappy bins sold in the baby specialist shops.

A kitchen bin is the worst place for dirty nappies. Always use the bin outside. Nappies make the house smell so always make sure you avoid that. Another option is the nappy wrapper bins, specifically meant for nappies. They seal in the air so that's good because dirty nappy smells don't linger in the house.

U really should empty your bin every day - for health and hygeane reasons. You can put you baby's nappies in a supermarket bag and that way keep it separate from the rest and then throw it out every day or twice a day.

I used to put dirty nappies in the outside bin, only just wee ones inside. They do make special nappy bins though...small and compact...maybe worth looking around for? Featured in most baby mags.

I used to even as mine were in nappies, yet I continually made confident they were in a tied plastic bag. I honestly does not placed a humid or sh*tty nappy unwrapped in a public muddle bin. i have considered mum and dad replace little ones on trains, and purely shove the grimy nappy lower than the seat. some people haven't any self observe of, or observe of for others.

try an find a air tight bin i dont know if they do them but that would solve the smell being in the air all the time, but not when you open the bin hmm .... hard one

only feed your baby nice smelling foods??

double wrap them in scented bags, u have probably tried that one tho. how about placing your bin some were that it wont be as bad by an open window.

o well i tired for you, good luck xxx

It's the same as cat litter. You really need to put in in the bin outside.
Would you not be better using re-usable nappies and then you can just wash them?

Of course you could use a plastic grocery sack to put your daily dirty nappies in, they are free and very useful. You might also try having a large empty coffee can to put the dirty diapers in.
Another thing, try wrapping the nappie in a newspaper, the ink in the paper absorbs a lot of odors.
