Judging by your grammar and punctuation, you are one of them.

Well that might not be completely true, but for some reason I have noticed some of this happening. You can look up statistics on whether they have a divorced or single parent. A lot of single parent kids get along in life better possibly because they know how to take care of themselves. However, this is basically depended on the personality of the child. The discipline system may not be as strict as it should be. Lots of factors!!

Well Missy: Most (parents) don't care, some schools don't. We, as the public, have to look at it.

One school, to be left un-named (high school) had 125 members of a football team, of those, 15 couldn't read or write to maintain a fourth grade, grade. But, boy, they could play football.
You see, I believe that's what's wrong with most of our society today, they're more interested in sports than an educated society.

My grandson was failing science, he plays football, eleventh grade and he's good, The coach said "never mind, I'll take care of it" the next marking period he got a C+ but we didn't see anything different.

These are some of the things we have to address today but, we can't do it alone. Like my grandson said "Grampa, no one cares" I do believe he's right.

Well my parents always say that if your parents graduated from college then most likely you'll graduate from college too. Sometimes people don't have a whole lot of self confidence in themselves and they decide not to go. Some people don't see the point. I however am a sophomore in college and I plan on going to law school after wards to become a sexual assault prosecutor.

Whoa...Do you think that it is only ghetto kids that fail? I know some "silver spoon in the mouth" kids that have never even graduated from highschool. I think it has to be your own will to survive and prove everyone wrong. Realistically, do you want to stay where your are or go where you have never been before? Parent's may give us our life but it is really up to us what we do with it.

Yeah, it probably is. It is up to the parents to teach their children the value of a good education. Regardless of where you live or how you grow up, there is no reason to not get an education. Unless you have sub-standard teachers, which is quite possible...but not for the entire 18 years of schooling!

I also dont think that our current government allocates enough funds for education...all probably due to this war...

Well my opinion is its mostly public school kids. When I was in public school I wasn't learning that much.I only knew enough to pass the grade. Now I'm homeschooling and I'm learning a whole lot more.I'm not allowed to make that many mistakes.Anyway I've heard of some schools letting students go on to the next grade even if they shouldn't.

I think it's both. Our school system is a sham and seems to be just something to do with the kids until they are "old enough to contribute to society". Also most parents don't care or don't have the time they need to focus on raising their kids to be intelligent able folk.

Not all children graduating are uneducated and ghetto, you're the one who is ignorant for making that retarded statement and unless you've lived in a ghetto you have no room to talk about one.
