Ok it seems normal, but when I flush it, this is what happens. I tried the karate chop and busted my hand.

Since the toilet works by gravity, the fact that it fills the bown first, before flushing means that the drain is still partially clogged.

At some point, as the bowl fills, the weight of the water will force the water down, creating the flush.

If plunging does not work, the trap may have to be snaked. Don't use a regualar plumber's snake, because it will scratch the proceline. These scratches are where permanent stains develop. There is a special snake available with a plastic sheath on the part that makes contact with the bottom of the bowl.

You have a partial clog still somewhere either in the toilet's trap or further down in the drain line. It might break free on it's own if it is just a wad of toilet paper, or you can try a plunger to help break it up. You can also use a plumber's snake, or call a plumber to fix if the problem persists.

try a water hose connected to your hot water washer hookup, let the hot water run for a few, to get the clog out into the main line.

If your toilet is flushing on it's own you need a plumber or an exorcism.

if it's still filling after you cleaned it up, it means that it's still clogged... get a plunger and try to see if that works!
