My new house in CA is in a gated community (no guard on duty, but walls and a gate). My house already has a security system built in. Should I pay $29/month to activate it? Or is it not necessary? (If I activate it, I would get 15% off my home-owners insurance.)

I killed 1 that was probably male. But the female had 6 babies. now ever so often I kill 1 and another one just pops up out of nowhere. But my house is always clean. I never eat anywhere besides the dining room, and I vacume twice a day in every room. That's why the mice are so desperate they even got to eat off of the mouse trap. Last night I left a mouse trap with cheese on it. This morning I found the mouse trap licked clean!! I need help. Please

My husband and I and our 3 young children (3,6,&8)bought our second home last year.It sits on 3 acres in west. PA.-about a 1/2 acre is wooded.I have always been a gardening enthusiast, although I still have quite a lot to learn-especially in the area of organic gardening.I am,however, constantly reading up to learn as much as possible. My hope is to start a small scale organic veg. buisness over the next 2 years. There are quite a few farmers markets in the area where I could at least get my start.I'm also interested in selling to restaraunts in the area. Finally, most of the responsibilities of the buisness would fall on me as my husband works full time outside the home.I am currently a stay at home mom and believe that this would be a great way for me to do what I love and believe in while I continue to stay home with my children.Any advice, experiences or resources anyone can share would be very much appreciated.

When someone was painting the ceiling in one of my bedrooms, something happened to my textured ceiling (looks like stucco). Where the wall and ceiling meet, there is some like chips of something that looks like paper hanging from the ceiling. Is it paper? Can you explain what happened? And most importantly, how do I get my ceiling make to the original condition?

i have a combi boiler VCW T3W. the pressure keeps going down. i identified where the leak is. it is in the differential pressure valve inside the boiler (or the flow switch/valve). so that i know what to expect - do you have to replace the whole thing or can it be fixed. the pressure keeps going down and needs filling and the hot water doesnt always work.

I already put oak-Gloss on it when it's new 2 days ago and wanted to give it a 2nd hand and turn out really bad, so I had to scrape it off using sandpaper and again I tried to put another one and this time the Varnish didn't come uniform so I am scraping it off but My hands are hurting so bad and I really wish to find a solutinon for it after I finished cleaning it. Is there any product I should use before varnishing it.

I've completely turned off the hot water valve, and even disconnected the hose entirely. Regardless of which intake valve I attach the cold water hose to, and which water temperature setting I use, the washing machine still fills up with hot water. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

I recently bought a Lawn Man mower with a Tecumseh 6.5 HP OV195EP engine in it. Of course I misplaced the owner's manual and now it's time to winterize it and I don't know what to do. Can somebody look up how to do it on their website and let me know? I tried with both Firefox and IE, but my internet connection is so slow that Acrobat froze it right up. Man I love PDFs........

I have dark gray towels that I'd like to give a more thorough cleaning with very diluted bleach along with my wash. Will this fade their color at all?

Addirtionally, per wash, what would be the proper amount of bleach to put in a medium load of laundry in order for them not to fade? 1/4 to 1/2 a cup?

I like candles that smell like pumpkin pie and other scents that smell like the holidays. I like the scent to be strong enough and smell long enough.

I need to add a few more breakers to the box, however, there is a bar that goes down the middle of the box that when I put in a replacement breaker, it won't fit because the bar prevents it from going in. I looked at the breakers currently in there and they have a notch in them. I can't seem to find any resources about this kind. Can someone enlighten me?
