I have just bought a small Victorian mid-terrace house and need to furnish it. Problem is; the front door is so narrow and the largest window (back dining room) is only 90 centimeters across/wide. I think alot of the front window and door space has been reduced because of double glazing ... still, I have looked and looked online and in department stores for a nice, comfortable sofa, not large but at the same time I really don't want something too small and uncomfortable. So, I can't be the only person who has this problem. How do I fit furniture into the house. Most of the sofas I have seen and liked are more than 90 cm (D) I assumer this means depth. When measuring, is that the number I need to be aware of? Can't furniture be brought into the house at an angle? Very frustrating; want to spend my money on something nice but can't seem to! Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks, in advance.

I was told it is supposed to sharpen the blades. Well, my sis put a small round ham bone down hers and all it did was jam the motor and lock it up.

My roomates and I recently moved into an apt, we are all 22 and we really smell 72. The apartment smells like mothballs and the smell is getting stronger even though there are no mothballs in our apt. HOW DO WE GET RID OF THE SMELL? I'm mostly looking for an old home remedy as my allergies are sensitive and Glade products cause a severe reaction.

thanks

I am in zone 8, eatern north carolina (not the coastal region) and have these weird fungus in my yard. They are the size of baseballs, round, brown and have brown powder(spores?) on them. They are very heavy for their size and when opened look something like the inside of a pomagranate. so much so that I thought someone had thrown a pom into my yard and it'd rotted. Anyway, these fungus are found under my pine straw and leaves so seem to prefer the dark. Rain does not seem to have much effect on their appearance. Does anybody know what this mysterious fungus is and if it's edible?
Thanks in advance,
fiona

This do-hickie is the flames-coming-out-of the-many-holes do-hickie. The furnace is 30+ years old, and a big pile (literally) of rust has accumulated under it...I'd guess maybe a pint or 2 of rust dust. Other than turning off the gas line that feeds the furnace, what else do I need to do before replacing the do-hickie? My wife says to increase my life insurance and our homeowner's insurance..
