Depends on how big the roof is, pitch, how many people are helping and what tools you're using, if you have to take shingles off, etc...etc..... I would guess at least 2 full days.
Oh and hope for good weather.
And don't drink the beer till your're done!

It depend on the number of people who help, whether you tear off the old first, with you use air nailers or just nail by hand, whether or not you need new sheathing. If the house is fairly new you can use architectural shingles and just put them on over the old ones. If you do that and really work at it you can do it in a day with air nailers and help getting the shingles onto the roof.

Define average.

I've reroofed my last two houses. Alone, with no help, it took me 4 days. 1 Day to remove to old roof, 1 day to prep, one day to bring up the shingles, up and down on a ladder, and one day to install.

If you have a crew of about 2 to 3 guys, 2 days max. If you dont have to remove the old shingles, 1 day.

With all material in place and a crew ready to go, easily within an eight hour time frame--probably less.

assuming 1800 sq ft, with no apecial circumstances, a crew of 3-4 people, tear off and replace with no repairs......... 2-3 days
