I have a very old jade tree that was my fathers and so it is very dear to me. I went away on vacation 2 weeks ago and while we were gone it frosted 2 nights in a row. I brought it in as soon as we got home, but most limbs feel limp and the majority of the leaves are brown and wilted. However, there are still some leaves that look healthy. Can it be saved? What do I need to do to revive it?

This fridge was working a month ago. I transported it 250 miles on its belly.
I plugged it in and the compressor runs continuously.
In the first hour, the compressor got very hot but the condenser coil was at room temperature.
After 5 hours, the start of the condenser coil was hot, maybe the first 5%, 5% further along it was at room temperature.
The start of capillary tube seems to be at room temperature.
The entire evaporator is at room temperature.
The return from the evaporator is at room temperature where it enters the compressor.
I have heard that a fridge should be transported vertically because oil can get in "the wrong places". Too bad I didn't hear that before I moved it.
I believe that moving it on its belly caused the problem. I examined the configuration of the coils and, with the unit shut off, I spent 10 days repositioning it in various ways while trying to imagine the oil flowing back to the compressor.
I tried running it again and, same problem.
What's next

Downy or hairy (or both) woodpeckers are tearing up my cedar clapboard siding. The house has just been painted. Woodpeckers have not bothered the siding much before.

Just short of refinishing, I wish to get rid of 20 years of grime.
The 100+ year old roll top desk is oak, refinished in 1946. The finish is generally solid. I await advice with toothbrush in hand.

I am growing a small sapling of a Giant Sequoia Redwood tree. For 10 months it was doing fine. I have it in a 5 gal container. I was spraying it daily to simulate the fog that rolls in from the Calif coast, and watering once a week. Redwoods can grow in my area. Recently the needles are all turning brown. Am I overwatering, under watering? Can it be saved?

Ok, so I don't know where these ants are coming from, but they keep on coming! One by one. I have never seen them in a swarm! I don't think the reproduction rate is that high right now, but what if they get out of hand? I NEED HELP!!! EXTERMINATION!

My husband wants to buy a wood burning stove to heat our home in the winter time because of the cost of propane. He will have it installed in the basement (concrete floors) and he said the radiant heat will flow upwards and heat the entire house. My fear is that our house has tongue and groove knotty pine throughout 75 % of the upstair's ceilings and walls. The knotty pine has been stripped and varnished with polyurathane from when the house was first purchased around 9 years ago. My fear is that the wood stove could catch the knotty pine on fire. He thinks I'm being silly, but I'm just trying to be cautious. What are the pros and cons of a wood burning stove for heat?

I have an Olsen Airco BCL-120S and I'm trying to figure out how to turn just the blower on without having to fire the furnace up. I have my woodstove piped into it on the intake side as instructed by a few people including an HVAC mechanic. He told me over the phone that there is a white pin I would have to pull out to turn the fan on. I see no such thing. Any Ideas? Thank you!

I have just moved into a new place. On the paint above my shower/tub there is a black meldew or mold growing, I am going to repaint the bathroom with a mildew resistant paint, but what do I do to get rid off the stuff before I paint? Bleach or a cleaner of some sort? Thanks
