I had a problem with a Honeywell thermostat. You can go the website and download the instruction books. Hope this helps.

First step. Make sure there is no hole in the wall behind the thermostat where the low voltage wires come thru. Seal it if there is. A draft will trick the thermostat.

It is probably cycling too long and running past your set point. so you need to adjust the cycle time. For this you need an instruction book to do a proper job.
