We recently moved into a new home. One of the attractions of the place was the great workshop. The problem is the electrical in the shop. The breaker for one half of the shop keeps tripping, even if there's no appliances plugged in. I've tried replacing the breaker, but the same thing happens: the breaker trips as soon as it's reset.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Is there any way you can prevent spiders coming into your home? There was a huge spider in my basement earlier today and medium sized spider in the kitchen. I'm afraid of spiders so I want them to stay out of my house.

I notice in some of the crevices of the wood I just sanded, that there's still some sanding material in it. I rubbed it a bit....but it's not all out. Is there a more effective method of getting it all out...clean...and ready to stain?

my kitchen is being remodeled and there will be some space that needs to be painted, but mostly the upper areas and the ceilong because i am making many cabinets and will have like 20 inch high backsplashes.

my contractor told me to buy flat finish paint....because it will hide any imperfections...

but i remember another contractor told me to get gloss paint along time ago when i had alot of wall space without imperfections.

what should i get?????????????????????????????????

We have cement steps leading to our front door. They are starting to crack and crumble so we are going to rip them out, but I need to know which is the best tool to do that with? Can you use just a standard sledge hammer or is there something out there that is better? Thanks.

This animal is HUGE! I bought traps but can't get him or her to get in it. He seems to love to eat the Pentas and other plants. He is also digging a tunnel under the concrete patio which is causing other problems. HELP! I need to get rid of this thing before he finds a friend and starts making babies!!

it says on the tag to wash it in warm water in a front load commercial washer. does that mean i have to go to a laundromat to wash it? because my washer is top loading. and it says to put clean tennis balls in the dryer with it. why? i've just never washed a down blanket before.

I have a three-way light (low, med, high). The high and low levels have stopped working, and I have tried replacing the bulb with two different new bulbs, so that isn't the problem. The medium level works, and that provides enough light for my needs. I'm wondering if it is safe to use, though?

I just bought a wood table that came with a glass top to protect the wood, along with the little plastic discs that space between the wood and the glass -- presumably to keep the glass off the wood.

What is the right way to space them? More importantly, how do I keep them in place when I am putting the glass on top (man oh man is it ever heavy)?

Any tips or suggestions are welcomed. Thanks for your help.

I have built a gorgeous deck and cannot get a straight answer on sealing. I have used heartwood redwood and do not wish to lose the beauty of the wood. I have been told to use a tinted sealant and that seems ludicrous when I wish to retain the beauty o fthe wood. Second problem is prep work before sealing. I am open to suggestions.

This question was posed recently on a popular talk show and comes from an actual ad in a local newspaper. I'm going to copy the ad word for word as it was read on the air:

"Male, young business professional, 30 years of age, seeking young lady from the age of 18 to 25 to live in my home in an upscale neighborhood, rent free in exchange for doing the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. Must have own transportation.
House contains all the luxury amenities you could want including flat-screen televisions, dishwasher and other appliances." And there was more along but you get the idea of what this guy is looking for.
Surprisingly, most of the women that called into the talk show to comment, stated that they'd take the offer. However, a small majority indicated that this ad was downright 'sexist.' What say you ladies? Would you consider this a personal affront to women and denounce it as 'sexist' or would you consider taking the offer?
