My basement has an existing egress window but I am a little bit confused on the building code on whether a seperate egress window (for the bedroom) is needed when I add a new bedroom. Can I just build a new bedroom just right next to the existing egress window?

I have a king size comforter and bought a king size duvet cover. But the comforter insists on moving around especially in the corners.

ok I NEED a rational explaination before i scare myself. Its 3:20am Im on my computer in the same place doing the same thing i ususally do everyday, listening to music like normal, its just deep purple. But in the background not part of the music I keep hearing a regular noise it sounds like a low key note on a wood wind instrument, the sketchy thing is Ive never heard it before and its too regular to be coincidence.

HELP its scaring me LOL and I dont even know why???!!!!???

My husband and coworkers were wondering how a washer got its name, like a bolt and a washer, not a washing machine.

I was shown a model apartment several weeks ago. When I viewed the unit, the leasing agent stated that everything in the model was the same as what was in the unit I wanted (I couldn’t view the unit because it was still being cleaned). I signed the lease this past Sunday and noticed that the carpet was green! The carpet in the model was beige; however the carpet in the unit is this hideous green.

Seeing as I already singed the lease, what are my chances of getting the beige that is in the unit? The complex would literally have to recarpet 1300+ square feet in the unit I am renting.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

I have been overrun with those pesky Asian Lady-Beetles, and just found out I am allergic to them. They are literally driving me mad. Are there any tips as to how I can keep them from getting into my house besides extermination? We are in the process of remodeling and dont have the extra funds available to exterminate. I am looking for cheap easy to do and readily available ways to prevent them from coming in. Please help!!!

I recently opened up a doorway into a bigger opening for no door, just a walkthrough. I will have trim around this opening, however, I need to first form the plaster back to the edge. How would I go about this and if anyone finds good resources, please post. I don't know if I should form with compound because of such a large fill, but any ideas would be great. Thanks!

I just got a plot at a community garden and it is covered in weeds and the soil seems rocky. Where do I begin with the soil? I know I need to pick the weeds, but then do I just lay down a layer of new soil, pick out the rocks or what?
I live in LA so I figure I'll be able to actually grow some stuff out here even in the winter, so I need to know how to prepare my area.

I have a maroon basketball uniform with white stripes. After (even careful) washing, the stripes are now pink. My daughter does not like being the only one on the team with pink stripes. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get them white again?

The slightest vibration near it causes the water to leak significantly out the corners, almost as if the water is missing the dehumidifier tank completely, and going out the sides. I tried cleaning the filter, thinking perhaps the lint on the filter was blocking the water from going where it needed to go. Does anybody know what's wrong with it? It's driving me mad. It defeats the purpose of having a dehumidifier if the dehumidifier is dumping much of the water on the floor. (It's an LG model. Those are the initials on it.)

I realize this isn't a lock at home but at work. We have a storage room broken into and we realized that there are some people that don't work for us anymore that still know the combination to the room and things have turned up missing (and yes, at least one was caught on camera). We have a lock on the door that looks like a Cypher Lock (sorry, I don't know exactly what type it is) - it's got 5 buttons in a row and a nob, nothing more. None of us know how to change the combination but it needs to be changed. Can anyone help me out here?
