I have known complexes to change the carpet on request. In fact, when I was newly married and couldn't afford my own wall to wall carpet, it came in handy that I knew a superintendant couple at an upscale complex. They would pull the old carpet out EVERY TIME a lessee changed, not just at a complaint. I got free carpeting for years because of this.

First check if there is any kind of paperwork that has a detailed description of the house, with your signature on. You cannot really claim what the agent said because he can claim that he told you about the carpet, but worth a try.
You can always "threaten" them that they leased you something different.
Is there any brochure with photos of the apartment with the beige carpet? that would be your stronger evidence.
Do not care if they have to re carpet everything. This is not your problem it's theirs.
Try to talk to other people with the same problem in the complex, unite and try to make it a big deal. most probably the company doesn't want any bad publicity.
I dealt recently with situations like that trying to open my own business. Just mention that you need to speak to their legal department if they don't want to do anything. It works many times.
Good luck

Did the leasing agent state this in the lease? Although the green carpet is ugly is it in good condition? I`m afraid if it was not in your lease and the carpet is good you`re out of luck. Sorry.

I used to manage an apartment complex and if we said the carpet, paint, or tile were going to be like another, then we would do so!! Most of the time, we would let the tenant pick out their own color of carpet, pain, etc. If I were you, I would, for sure say something. If the leasing agent says no, then just remind them of what they said!!!!! Good luck!!!!

I would confront them and tell them that you were told it would be the same and you assumed that that meant carpet color. if they don't have anything else available, you could tell them that you were misled and are very unhappy with the color of the carpet and if something can't be worked out (ie, change carpet or get another unit) that you will contact the better business bureau and report them for misleading you and falsifying information to get you to sign a lease. no business ever wants to hear that!! good luck, hope you get it worked out!

Hmm..I really dont think they will change it..but I would be mad as well...maybe ask them to knock off some rent(My mom had a huge stain on the carpet she moved into..they wouldnt change it.so they took $150 off of her rent every month)...or ask if any other units have beige and when they become available can you move in there...hmm..or just move..they should let you out of your lease...if they never told you that you would have green carpet...

Just talk to the leasing agent.
Let's not make this bigger than it already is.
Be firm and be nice and use a lot of HONEY!
Good luck.
