You skim coat it. Basically you take a thin layer of joint compound ( for drywall) and smoothly coat the walls, usually you have to do 2 coats. you will have to sand it a little after you are done otherwise you will see lines.

Sand Texture Paint

There is a couple of things you can do: You can skim coat the walls with joint compound. Use a wide joint compound knife and apply a very thin coat of mud. Let it dry and sand. If you want a perfect finish and its not to big of an area you can pick up some 3'8 drywall and go right over your existing wall. Also, depending on how hard or secure the sanded paint finish is you can use a sander with a hard grit and try and sand it off. Hope this helps.

How To Remove Wall Texture

That is a tough one. You either have to get a large bucket of Sheetrock mud and go over all the walls and make them smoother. Replace all the sheetrock? Then you can try to remove it by sanding it with a hand sander in a very inconspicuous place, if it is too hard you may want to rethink it and live with the texture and just paint it a couple of good coats and see if it doesn't look better and you can live with it. good luck.

you can either sdand it down or you can put a thin coat of plaster of joint compound on it but you better be good with the joint cement.
