I found their name in several court case records, but nothing current.

I worked for Dohrmann Hotel Supply Co. many years ago (and some years after James Garner's Mother was employed). Dohrmann Co. (branded "Dohrco") experienced many acquisitions throughout the 50's and 60's. After Nor Goldman, President died, it was purchased by Holiday Inns Corp (Memphis) and became Innkeeper's Dohrmann. They had a beautiful showplace on Hollywood Blvd. called the IMART building and was open only to the trade (contractors and the like). Though the company, Innkeeper's Dohrmann, relished in it's long history going back to the gold rush days, those halcyon days would come to an end in the mid 1970's. Holiday Inn Corp sold off the branches (Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, SFO, Lax, Hawaii, Reno and Las Vegas to a number of suiters (Brody. S.E. Rycoff, etc.) and the legacy of Dohrmann went "dohr-mant". And, yes they had a magnificent showroom at 8888 Venice Blvd., but that was replaced by their facility in Vernon years later. The corporate offices I was fortunate to work in were in the Guarantee Bank Building on Hollywood Blvd. Bob B.

My name is Mark Dohrmann and I am a grandson and great grandson of the founders of Dohrmann Hotel Supply and Dohrmann Commercial. These fine posts by former employees speak to a history that had slipped away before my time and I greatly enjoy reading their experiences.

Dohrmann went out of business many years ago. They had a retail outlet in San Francisco at the corner of powell and Geary Streets, which is where Macy's is today. They also had an outlet in San Jose, CA at 233 Commercial street where I used to work in 1958. This outlet also closed many years ago.
