i think the commbination of those 2 colors sounds very nice. if u like it , go4 it, it's ur room and ur the 1 whoes going to spend time in there, might as well enjoy it and have it look ur way. alittle advice i don't know bout u but it'll look nice if you have 2 walls 1 color and 2 other walls another color.

this situation is kinda confusing to me. but normaly id depends on the contrast. for example brown wall with dark brown trim. but with those two colors you can paint the wall yellow beige and paint the trim light purple. but to me those two colors wouldnt match in a way. heres a good way to do this. you can paint the wall light purple then paint the trim with a darker purple or if you wanna do the yellow beige, paint the wall yellow beige and paint the trim just a little bit darker of the same color. ive painted plenty of houses and i pritty much know what can go togeather good luck with the painting project!

Why don't you find two different shades of a colour you like one darker than the other .

paint the opposite walls the same colour but ignore the natural line created by the corner so that the different colours meet at odd angles .

IE go to a corner measure 6" out from the corner on the bottom of one wall , then on the other wall measure 12" out from the corner at the top of the wall and draw a line between .

use different measurements in every corner and it will change the look of the room entirely .

I would suggest using very mellow colours though ?

well, unless you want a REALLY bold color scheme...you probably shouldn't go with purple and yellow. You might want to consider something like a darker purple with a lighter purple contrasting wall. Also you could put track lighting positioned so that it illuminates the lighter wall...and sheers really do help a small window to help bring the light in. Good Luck and Have Fun redoing your room!!

yeah I think they go, be careful when buying the light purple paint especially if you are going to paint large areas as the end result always looks much darker on a whole wall or room than that little square sample you see on the colour chart (been there made that mistake & had to repaint with white paint twice to get back to square one) personally I would do a mix of the two & make beige the more prominent colour

don't know if you can get Dulux paint where you're from but their website is very good - go to projects page & you can mess around with colour schemes etc http://www.dulux.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/MyScrapControl?storeId=10752&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&OP=4.1

Lavender and pale yellow sound good! Put the light color on top Or stripe the walls with the opposite color. That involves a lot of taping and measuring, but it will make your room look taller! Or paint it all 1 color & paint big & medium flowers of other color unevenly around on the walls. Use your imagination & have fun with it!

I f you have the money, find and buy a painting, patterned rug, pillow or comforter that has the colors you like (or buy a small piece of fabric if you need to save money...) Then match up those colors with the samples at the paint store! Dark colors will make your room look smaller, light colors will open it up.

Go to Home Depot or Lowes. Visit the Painting department and take a look at all of thier color samples. They also have lots of photos of painted rooms. They also have booklets to show ;you the different paiting techniques that can easily be done. Like using a sponge and so on.

You can try this............paint two walls next to each other purple .Let walls dry one day...
On one of the walls, you can.have some of your second color (the yellow beige) in a paint metal pan.........Take a rag, a piece
of cloth from an old towel would do.(.size of a wash cloth ).......place it in the second color of paint, and wring out most of it.......you are going to rag roll the wall..................with your rag folded up loosly, touch the top of the wall and roll it downward....(.Don't worry, you can't mess up.)....What ever you do it will be a design.........After you rag a few minutes step back and see what you think...........You can rag straingt down or sideways or Whatever.........If you don't like it, you can just paint it back to purple......Good luck

this is what you do.
you can either paint your ceiling a soft light purple and paint the rest of your room a creamy yellow beige OR you could get creamy yellow beige and light purple stripes around your room then color the ceiling yellow beige
