What does it mean when an oak tree starts growing moss?

Moss grows on it's own. The oak tree happens to be in the way!!

The moss is growing on the North side of the tree right?
well it doesn't mean much of any thing moss always grows on the north side of trees and solar panels always go on the south side of house. I would worry about the moss it just a natural occurrence.
