There are arguments for and against it. While it certainly feels nice to be conserving earth's resources, think about what happens realistically.
You make recycled paper by basically shredding old paper (with all the ink and so on), putting it in some water and reforming the sheets. In the process, the water understandably becomes contaminated with what was on the paper. Now where does this polluted water go to? How much in burnt fuel did the truck that brought it to a recycling center release into the air to bring all the recycled stuff? And what could be paid for with the government salaries if they weren't recycling this stuff for basically no reason? It costs more to make this recycled stuff, too, and the paper gets worse and worse the more it's recycled.
This can be applied to most other things you can recycle.

We get a leaflet through the door every now and again from the council saying where the local recycling places are.
I recycle everything that gets collected from my house (card, paper, plastic) but glass doesn't get collected. I could take it to a glass bin but I don't have a car and I'd couldn't carry much on the bus. I know it's not very responsible of me to not do it, but...
I don't feel it's time consuming if it gets collected (green bins) and if I had a car I would take glass when I went food shopping. It wouldn't cause me any inconvenience as I'm going anyway!
I also take anything I'm getting rid of to charity shop rather than throwing it away as it may be useful to someone (clothes/books etc).

Here in bristol we have a recycle bin that is collected weekly, which I use. The only thing the council wont collect is plastic, which is mad, because it fills our normal bins up to the brim with the big plastic milk bottles etc.
I dont have a plastic recycling point anywhere near where I live, and I cannot afford to pay bus fares to recycling points. I already pay anough council tax, the council should collect the plastic too.
I recycle everything else, newpapers, magazines, junk mail, cardboard, tin foil, bottles, tins etc.

I recycle. I just keep everything in garbage bags and take it to the recycle center once a month, more often if needed. The city wants us to recycle but you have to pay for a recycle bin!

Not much. The problem is almost entirely one of lack of space for three separate rubbish bins. Ordinary, glass and paper
The second bit is the collection method for recycling materials (open blue boxes) is unsatisfactory. They have not got tops on them to prevent the paper blowing away. This becomes a neighbourhood nuisance.
The third reason, is I incur a cost washing up glass bottles. Or rather I don't, because I dislike washing-up at the best of times.

Our local authority put leaflets though our doors and pick up sorted waste once a week.
So yes, I do recycle as much as I can.
It's not time consuming.

I recycle everything, have a brown bin for green waste and kitchen but not meat items, the dog eats the scraps and the birds get their share too, have a black bin for household rubbish, a fire in the garden for plastic paper etc and a box for paper, tins, bottles, cardboard etc and a bag for batteries.

I recycle cans. Its slightly time consuming, but worth it (especially since I use a *lot* of cans. Once I started, its been fairly simple keeping it up.

I don't recycle because of the amount of council tax that I pay, and the lack of a discount on that tax if I do their job for them. Plus, I shall be dead in about ten years, so I don't really give a solitary sh*it about what happens to the planet. It won't be my worry.
