I have to replace my windows and will probably chose vinyl windows. There's so many manufacturers out there, I don't know which one to pick. Thanks for the help.

You`re absolutely right, there are so many. I can list a bunch of "don`t" companies. But personally I haven`t found a true "Champion" yet. I wonder if Consumer Report has ever done any testing on these lines. Usta be a company in Toledo Ohio called Great Lakes Window that had a pretty good product. Just seems with the passing of time and so called "upgrades", companies have cheapened components of the units. Many companies also have very poor or no quality control. About "Pella". Pella does not build a vinyl window!! They have lent their name to a product built by "Energystar". Lowes markets them. They`re a little better than mediocre. They ocassionally have some QC problems. Silverline has a fair product. Simonton is a pretty good product if sized properly. They also have very good color and finish selections. I know this probably may confuse more than help but hopefully it afforded some sort of direction. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I have worked on some very high end houses and we always install Pella or Windsor windows. Aluminum clad is better than vinyl so if you can go for the aluminum
