I heard that with some bulbs, the majority of energy is used to switch them on, so once the lamp is on, it's best to leave it on... but to which bulbs, if any, does this apply?

I just moved into a new appartment. My room has bright yellow walls and bright orange curtains. I don't want to change either of them. I would just like to know, what color comforter should I buy, so that it matches and won't make my room look too red.

I am told that wool stinks then it becomes wet. I just received a Navy Pea Coat and live in a wet climate. Do I need to do something to the coat to make it waterproof and not stink when wet?

Is this for decoration purposes, or does it serve a purpose? Also, can I lay it on top of brown mulch, or do I have to remove it and then put the red mulch around my trees, etc?

I'm staying with a family for three months and they have two cats ... from the moment I've been here I've woken with bites and have caught a few little bugs (that don't die when you squish them!). My host sister just told me that they're fleas. I don't allow the cats in my room because I'm allergic ... is it possible to get rid of the fleas from my room? I've never had to deal with fleas at home ... and I don't want to bring any home with me. Is there any way to prevent that?

I've tried working with para/soy wax, but it is so oily and does not hold color well or give a good scent throw. I am looking for a wax that can hold a "knock your socks off" fragrance. I am also looking for supplies, if anybody has any they are willing to sell, please let me know, I will pay a fair price.

I'm looking at buying a plot of land in Cornwall for a self build - where would you say is a good area to bring up 2 kids and run a business?

Do you know any good places to look for plots of land for sale? Most web sites want a subscription fee but there must be a good free alternative.

Thanks.
