can i paint over linoleum ?

i have a small room that has linoleum on the floor. can i paint over it ? and if so what kind of paint will do the trick?

NOT AT ALL... Linoleum is a plastic finish and even if you paint it and it may look good it will not last....even if you use a oil base paint...you might consider another flooring material

Just put a piece of carpet in the room. A berber remnant will look good, and last a bit too.

paint will not stick to it , sorry.
