I live in an apartment complex with interior hallways, and the jerk in the next apartment SLAMS his door as loudly as possible. I have made him aware of this, and he does not care. On top of that, he yells at his low self-esteem girlfriend while they are in the hallway, and he's basically just an abusive loser.

I could go to the landlord and express my concerns, but I figure my neighbor would then go nuts and come after me.

Should I start slamming my door in return, or perhaps bouncing things off the adjoining wall? Blaring music maybe? I hate to get into eye-for-eye behaviors, but I'm stuck in my lease for the next 6 months.

If I start with the roof, what would be the least expensive roof material. If I start with the outside walls do I buy the sheets of wood and nail them to the present wood walls?

I bought a set of kitchen knives a few months ago... they came with a wooden block. Some of the knives are getting rust spots. How do I stop this? How do I get rid of it? Where is the rust coming from? Are these crappy quality knives? The price didn't seem like they were cheap.

I just moved into a house where the previous owners didn't do any sort of lawn care at all. It is 3/4 acre of almost pure clover. Does anyone know the quickest and most effective way to get rid of it, so I can start working on getting the grass to grow. I was thinking about using Tru-green, but all they do is spray some stuff, I think I can do that if I knew what to spray. They want 85 dollars an app and say they need 5 apps a year

I'm just in the process of buying a new flat and it has a kitchen that is 6'4" wide and 7'3" long, not exactly a large space to work with and I'm struggling to come up with good ideas.

I was looking at using IKEA as the supplier, and that rules out the U shape because their corner units are too large to allow me to fit any other appliances in with a sink and fridge etc.

I can go for a gallery style (rows of cabinets on each side) but then the entrance of the kitchen would look through at a blank wall with rows of cabinets on each side.

Has anybody had experiences with small kitchens like this?

Ideal goal is to get a built in oven + electric hob, built in dishwasher and built in washing machine, and free standing fridge.

I planted my lawn a month ago and even though it's getting plenty of sun and water, its not growing past a couple of inches tall.

I have a row of about 30 ft high Arborvitae's that gives me an amazing natural privacy fence. They're showing orange colored leaves here and there. I don't remember noticing this before. Is this a natural progression into Fall or is something wrong. And if so, what can I do. I don't want to lose them?

Hi,
I am adding electrical outlets to an addition I am doing. I was told that they need to be 18" from the floor. This seems kinda high to me. Is this true?? Thanks for your time.

I have a Fathead lavender which was lovely until this year when it became leggy and spindly. I don't know how to care for it. Should it be cut right back? I don't want to kill it or prevent it flowering next year.

ok I know this is mostly just a case of opinion, but any ideas would be great!!! my living room in long and sorta narrow sorry I don't have the excact measurements,, right now it's a very boring off white, (military housing if that helps any) my funiture is flora with navy blue base,, the flowers are gold, maroon, and some greens not much. I want to do the walls in a similure gold, but one wall accented with the marron color kinda a plum,, but I am not sure which wall to paint the darker color? we usually have the house set up, so they enterainment center is at the far end on one of the short walls? would that be the best wall for the darker paint?? that's what I am thinking,, also,, should I leave the trim the off while or would that be a good place to put like another accent color like green?
Thanks

The ivy, when pulled from our house will leave a small residue of where the feet or roots adhered to the siding. We are going to cut the ivy toward the ground in a few weeks once a frost sets in. Once the ivy is cut, the ivy that is on the siding will die out but we don't think will just fall off of the house. How can we remove it easily and remove the stains it has caused on our siding?
