Spent three years working as a general labourer with my uncles plumbing company. Liquid plummer works reasonably well but if you try that and the clog is still there, you can by small cans of compressed air that will force the clog through the drain. Be careful with this though, if your pipes are older you can crack or otherwise damage them and then you have a much more serious problem.

If you have one of those thing that you flip to close the drain, remove the 2 screws and pull it out. If is probably clogged with hair and yucky stuff. You can also pull out the stopper at the same time. While you have it all out, do a good job of cleaning it up, before putting it back together. There is also a thing that is rubber about 6" long, that you can connect to a garden hose, and then connect with an adapter to your bathroom faucet. stick it in the drain, after you have covered up the hole where the air comes out with duct tape. When you turn on the water, it swells up and forces out a clog. It is known in the plumbing industry as a "plumber's weinie" and the thing is cheap and amazing. I clean out our floor drain in the basement with it about once a month and now it never backs up. Before it did all the time. It costs less than $8.00 and you'll be glad you spend the $ on it. It works on drains of any kind and really blasts out a clog. Good luck.

Do you own a plunger? You can put a little water and then plunge it like you would for a backed up toilet. The shower drain gets clogged with soap scum (yuk) you could try a drain cleaner but follow the directions carefully.

Here's the answer, but be careful with this stuff.

Soda powder, of even better: caustic soda (drugstore of supermarket).

Protect your hands and eyes and slowly drop the soda into the drain. Leave it there for about 10 minutes. Then add a little warm-hot water. Leave it for 5 minutes and then add a bucket of cold water. Now use the plunger and get that clog moving!!!

Good luck!
